KCERA (Kern County Employees’ Retirement Association)

A 14,300 SF Class A office building that achieved  Silver LEED Certification. All construction met LEED Requirements with a twist of high end exterior and interior finishes. The office houses the Kern County Employee Retirement Association.  The new building features five Executive Offices with 12’ ceilings, 12 individual offices, 2 interview rooms, two one hour rated storage rooms, one with an integrated movable filing system, an employee training room, a dedicated IT Room, a Compilation room, housing two copiers and multiple fax machines, a Board Conference Room, an employee Conference Room, and the center piece: The KCERA Board Room. The Board Room has a custom “Horse Shoe” shaped meeting room table with Black Galaxy Granite tops, integrated Audio Visual for viewing the Board’s agenda, individual voting capabilities from each seat, as well as individual computer connections. The Boardroom also has a beautiful Armstrong ceiling inside a stepped soffit ceiling which aligns with the perimeter of the Board Room Table. The Audio Visual system equipment is housed in an adjacent room and controlled from a control desk: the system controls the sound, the microphones at each seat, the large wall mounted monitors and motor operated shades at the exterior windows.

The Exterior of the Building is comprised of a combination of full a Brick façade integrated in with a high end EIFS exterior and Champagne Colored Una Clad metal siding and soffit details. It tied in nicely with the large Champagne colored storefront system providing an overall finish that makes the building stand out.

The interior finishes consist of an array of ceramic tiles, granite counter tops, Marlite wall panels, full height glass wall systems, soffited ceilings with a well-planned color scheme that ties it all together.

The Project was a successful collaboration effort between KCERA, American Realty Advisors, Taylor Teter Partnership and Wallace & Smith. KCERA was able to make a smooth transition from their location downtown to their new facility at the corner of River Run and Buena Vista where they will enjoy an efficient and well-designed facility for many years.
